“The Work of Nicolas Roerich. The Roerich Pact. Presentation of Journal “League of Culture” (Ukraine-Israel)”

The event was held on 12 February 2017 at
the Roerich museum (at the N.K. Roerich library). The keynote speaker was Olena
Zinchenko. Among the contributors of the event there were leading Ukrainian
professional in the respective fields and also guests from abroad. The members
of the CSCI (art critic, composer Aleksandr Reznik and poet Natalia Savina)
acted as speakers.

MasterPeace Eastern Partnership and Central Asia Regional Hub Levan Gorgadze,
Project Manager in the Center for Foreign Students Rights Protection and Integration
Giorgi Azariashvili and the Leader of MasterPeace Club of Kiev (the Head of the
Centre for Social & Cultural Innovations) Olena Zinchenko have agreed to
collaborate in the field of culture.
“League of Culture”
Journal is published under the auspices of the League of Culture Institute and
Social Commonwealth of House-Museum of N.K. Roerich (Odessa). This is one of
the most famous international Journals.
Olena noted that her articles have been repeatedly published
in this journal. In the “League of Culture” (2013) the first article “Window to
Europe. International Guild of Writers and New Horizons for Creativity” by
Olena Zinchenko was published. Keyword of the journal title is “Culture”. This
word reflects emotional substance of the journal. There are many interesting
and diversified columns in “League of Culture”. They relate to different
aspects of our society. Among them are such as “World”, “Spiritual Perfection”,
“Science”, “Art”, “Education”, “Crafts and Labor”, “Safety and Security”, “Land
Management and Building”, “Health care”. Journal is harmonious and monolithic
despite focus of individual columns varies. It is clear that such uniting
beginning is comprehensive and global notion “Culture”.
The main focus of the keynote speaker was on the
Roerich’s interpretation of the concept of “Culture”. Culture is veneration of
Beam of Truth. The theory of synthesis is viewless power of this grand
narrative “Culture”. In the view of Roerich, the Culture is the synthesis of
humanity’s great and sophisticated achievements. “The Culture is the Weapon of Light.
The Culture is Salvation. The Culture is the Engine of Progress. The Culture is
the Heart”.
Journal was presented in different countries: in
Israel, Holland and other countries. Of course, attention was focused on a
brief review of the background on now this Journal. O.Zinchenko also had
touched this theme.
Shortly before that, in 1931 author
of this Pact established “League of Culture”. It consists of 10 sections. Every
section corresponds to this or that vital area related to culture.
That’s why “League
of Culture” rallied potential authors from around the world under the Banner of
Peace. On these pages you can find numerous publications of authors from
German, Israel, Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
There’s an
article by Olena Zinchenko in “League of Culture” N9. It’s called “IMMERSIO. Innotations
memory for future generations”. It’s dedicated to trio IMMERSIO’s creativity.
This article was presented as a part of presentation.
Olena
Zinchenko also thanked the creative team of Journal, especially the
editor-in-chief Tatyana Slonimskaya and managing editor Elena Petrenko for
their hard enlightenment work.
This issue
of the journal was handed over to the Library’s collections.
Kiev MasterPeace Club member – poet Natalya Savina
read the poetry of Roerich. An essential component of his poetry is the energy
of beauty and its revitalizing power.
Roerich’s
writing has stood the test of time. He is protean artist. Kiev MasterPeace Club
member – musicologist, publicist Aleksandr Reznik gave a lecture on “N.K.
Roerich – the Artist and philosopher.
