Annual Conference-Training «MasterPeace Bootcamp» Colombia-2018

    October 6th - 13th, 2018 the 7th annual Conference-training «MasterPeace Bootcamp» was held in Colombia (Medellin), where MasterPeace Club leaders from around the world come to meet and exchange ideas, plans and inspiration.

     З 1 по 6 вересня 2018 в Медельіні (Колумбія) пройшла 7 щорічна конференція-тренінг MasterPeace Bootcamp, де збираються лідери MasterPeace клубу з усього світу, щоб зустрітися і обмінятися ідеями, планами і натхненням.

     Ukraine was represented by Olena Zinchenko – the Leader of MasterPeace Club Kyiv (was founded on the basis of Center for Social & Cultural Innovations) and Taras Dzyubanskyy – the Leader of MasterPeace Club Lviv (was set up on the basis of Libertas Center). 

     Україну представляли Олена Зінченко - керівник Київського MasterPeace Клубу, організованого на базі Центру Соціальних і Культурних Інновацій та Тарас Дзюбанский - лідер Львівського MasterPeace Клубу, створеного Центром міжконфесійного та міжрелігійного діалогу Лібертас.

     The event focused on the exchange of experiences, interactive workshops, opportunities for dialogue, as well as dynamic and creative sessions with local and international partners.

     Цей захід був зосереджений на обміні досвідом, інтерактивних семінарах, можливостях діалогу, а також динамічних i творчих сесіях з місцевими та міжнародними партнерами.

“Social Enterprises Are Both Life-Changing And Life-Saving,” Says MasterPeace Director Aart Bos

     Colombia Focus spoke to MasterPeace director Aart Bos about the foundation and what his team hope to achieve from South America’s first ever MasterPeace Bootcamp, which took place this week in Medellín.

     The not-for-profit organisation MasterPeace is a grassroots movement that works with 40 countries around the world to mobilise peace-building through music, art, sports, dialogue and creation. It was founded eight years ago by social entrepreneurs Ilco van der Linde, from the Netherlands – who also founded the youth initiative Dance4Life – and Mohamed Helmy, from Egypt. 

     Неприбуткова організація MasterPeace - це об’єднуючий рух, який працює з 40 країнами світу, щоб мобілізувати миростроительну діяльність через музику, мистецтво, спорт, діалог та творчість. Він був заснований вісім років тому соціальними підприємцями Ілко ван дер Лінде з Нідерландів, який також заснував молодіжну ініціативу Dance4Life та Мохамедом Хелмі з Єгипту.

     The organisation aims to bring local NGOs and social enterprises together from across the globe in order to create their own peace-building strategies by following three steps.

    Організація прагне об'єднати місцеві НО та соціальні підприємства з усього світу, щоб створити власну стратегію миростроительства, виконавши три кроки.

     The first revolves around music, art and play. What breaks down barriers and unifies a group better than putting them all in a room together to dance to music? Or on a pitch to play football? Through creativity and play, MasterPeace strives to bring people from different backgrounds and mindsets together in order to create a unique environment.

     Перший стосується музики, мистецтва та гри. Що руйнує бар'єри і об'єднує групу краще, ніж помістити їх в одній кімнаті, щоб танцювати під музику? Або на майданчику грати в футбол? Через творчість та гру, MasterPeace прагне об'єднати людей різного походження та думок, щоб створити унікальне середовище.

     The second: dialogue. MasterPeace prides itself on the dialogue it creates in order to gain not a global, but local perspective.

     Другий: діалог. MasterPeace пишається діалогом, який він створює, для того, щоб отримати не глобальну, а місцеву перспективу.

     Thirdly, as a foundation, the team hope to be able to create perspectives. Through leadership training and education, which represents 60% of MasterPeace’s work, the aim is to surround individuals in zones of conflict and social hardship with intellectual thought, in a bid to prevent them from turning to criminal activity or extremism.

     По-третє, як фундація, команда сподівається, що зможе створити перспективи. Завдяки підготовці та освіті в галузі лідерства, яка становить 60% роботи MasterPeace, мета полягає в тому, щоб оточити інтелектуальною атмосферою людей у зонах конфліктів і соціальних проблем, щоб запобігти їх перетворенню на злочинців або екстремістів.

     “Some of the projects run by our social enterprises are both, quite literally, life-changing and life-saving,” said Bos, speaking from the Encuentro Internacional de Paz which took place thе Thursday, October 11.

     "Деякі проекти, які проводяться нашими соціальними підприємствами,і ноді в буквальному сенсі змінюють життя і рятують життя", - сказав Бос, виступаючи від "Encuentro Internacional de Paz", який відбувся у четвер 11 жовтня".

     MasterPeace selects their social entrepreneur groups on the basis that they are providing a positive and impartial impact for the community, as well as working on at least four projects a year. At the moment, the foundation works with around 300 worldwide.

    MasterPeace вибирає групи соціальних підприємців з урахуванням того, що вони позитивно та неупереджено впливають на громаду, а також відпрацьовують, щонайменше, чотири проекти на рік. На даний момент фонд працює з приблизно 300 організаціями у всьому світі.

     Given the city’s transformation, Medellín was chosen to host South America’s first MasterPeace Bootcamp based on the example it sets for urbanisation and sustainable development, which Bos believes to be the best out of the 30 countries they work in.

     З огляду на трансформацію міста, Медельїн було обрано в якості першої майстернi MasterPeace в Південній Америці на основі прикладу, який він встановлює для урбанізації та сталого розвитку, який Бос вважає найкращим з 30 країн, де вони працюють.

     “The seven NGOs we work with here in Medellín will be role models for 25 countries,” he said. “When I told [the leaders] this you could see they had tears in their eyes.”

     “70% of social dilemmas are the same across all the countries,” Bos explained. By bringing leaders from each country together, therefore, the idea is that they can “work together, share best practices and knowledge management.”

     «Сім НГО, з якими ми працюємо тут, в Медельіні, стануть зразками для 25 країн», - сказав він. «Коли я сказав «лідерам», ви могли бачити, що в них були сльози».

      «70% соціальних дилем у всіх країнах подібні», - пояснив Бос. Таким чином, залучаючи лідерів з кожної країни, ідея полягає в тому, що вони можуть «працювати разом, обмінюватися передовим досвідом та управління знаннями».

     The Encuentro Internacional de Paz was a day-long event buzzing with peace leaders from all over the world, members of MasterPeace’s seven Medellín-based social enterprises and volunteers, who have all spent this week sharing ideas and working together on solutions for social development, human rights and entrepreneurship in order to build peace.
